About Us

About Our Team

The Computer Systems Lab (CSL) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Thessaly is a research‑oriented laboratory that develops innovative hardware and software for next‑generation computer systems. Our work spans the full computing spectrum—from edge devices to datacenters—and focuses on improving performance, energy efficiency, and reliability. We combine expertise in reconfigurable and heterogeneous computing, approximate computing, power/performance optimisation, and distributed systems.

CSL participates in national and European collaborations that push the boundaries of computing and trains a vibrant community of professors, postdoctoral researchers, PhD candidates and undergraduate students. We publish widely in leading venues and share our research through open‑source software—most notably the MLSysOps framework—to encourage reproducibility and collaboration. New members and partners are always welcome.
